- As far as I know it's still being supported - set your newsreader date back
- a week or so and read the thread on this very subject.

- A few hints on using Ed:-
-
- If you haven't already done so delete the file s/ed-startup (or just rename
- it for now if you want to play safe). You will find that the next time you
- start Ed you will have a full set of menu items. Why Commodore decided to
- disable them in the first place will remain a mystery!
-
- When using Ed, the command <esc>SR allows you to set the right margin. So,
- for example, press the <esc> key and at the asterisk prompt in the bottom
- left of the screen type "SR 128" to set the right margin to 128 characters.
- (If you've deleted s/ed-startup you'll find that this is now a menu entry
- under "Settings").
-
- Finallly, to edit a file and allow room for including a larger file start
- Ed with a "SIZE" figure on the command line e.g.
-
- "ed foo_bar.txt 100000" (or whatever figure you think you'll need)
-
- This example will set the buffer size to 100k regardless of the size of your
- original file.
